I mean, think about it: No matter how good or bad things are, the bottom line is that you are old enough to do your own thing but you still have to listen to parents and teachers. You are not a kid anymore, but you are still not free to be the adult you know you can and will become.
On top of that, there is so much juvenile, cliquey, dramatic crap going on in high school. People are trying to be "the man" or the "queen bee" and are putting up a front like they've got it all together and everything is O.K. People tease and gossip like crazy.
The simple reality is that most people your age really don't know who they are, where they're going, or what they'll become. Most teens feel totally insecure and inadequate. In addition, they tend to dump on others in order to feel better.
A lot of people judge books by their covers in high school. You are often not seen for who you really are or for who you will be. You are either in or you are out. And the "in" crowd seems to get smaller and more exclusive for the people that even care enough to want to be included in the first place. It sucks!
No matter how things are for you right now, I feel your pain, your struggle, your conflict, your anger. You may feel trapped or stuck right now. You may feel helpless, hopeless and that things are always going to be this way. I sure did.
I'm not that much older than you. I've just come from where you're headed to college, grad school and the real world. Here's the good news: life after high school is awesome.
Even though I’m done with the drama of high school, I remember how hard it is to deal with parents, teachers, friends and academic pressure which is exactly why I wrote How to Deal. Basically, I compiled everything I’ve learned about dealing with life and becoming a successful adult into this book.
By sharing my own personal struggles as a teen and a young adult, I provide you with the tools you need to deal with what’s going on in your life right now. I’ll teach you how to deal with stress, elevate your mood and feel better…even when things really suck.
