I have dedicated my career to enhancing adolescent skill development in the academic, interpersonal and intrapersonal areas so that today's teens will be well-prepared for their adult lives.

I have been a motivational and life-skills speaker at a number of Los Angeles and Orange County schools and have presented what I deem as the "Tool Belt" at educator conferences throughout California. The combination of my relative youth, use of adolescent-friendly language, and a conversational and charismatic speaking style enables me to provide this pertinent information while maintaining students' attention.

It is rewarding to see students who battle with lack of motivation, emotional problems, or other challenges become reinvigorated as they listen with rapt attention to my story. Born without a right foot, my formative years were rife with emotional and social pitfalls. Instead of caving into pressure and depression, I developed the Tool Belt literally one tool at a time. My Tool Belt approach was further enhanced by my Masters and Ph.D. program as well as conducting extensive additional research. Personal use of what is now the "Tool Belt" enabled me to overcome the challenges of teenage life, play NCAA Division I football, and attain my Ph.D. by the age of 26.

For the past nine years, I have specialized in teenagers and parenting teenagers while working in middle schools, high schools, community counseling centers, as director of in-patient teen treatment centers, as well as in private practice.
